Profile

Moha Ennaji is a linguist with research interests in gender and cultural studies, migration, human
rights and civil society. He holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Essex, he is a full Professor
and Director of the Doctoral Program in Gender Studies and Linguistics at the Faculty of Letters,
University of Fes. He was Chair of the English Department from 1988-1994 and is currently Director of
the international journal of Languages and Linguistics. He is the author and/or editor of numerous books
and articles on language, culture, education, migration, civil society and women’s issues. His new book is
titled Multilingualism, Cultural Identity, and Education in Morocco published by Springer; his most recent
articles are “The Effects of Migration on Moroccan Women Left Behind” (2004, Lisbon), and “Language
Contact and Arabization in Morocco” published by Curzon (2002, US) in a book edited by Dr Aleya
Roushdy. He is fluent in Berber, English, French, and Arabic.
